    1. Evangelos Theodorou was born in the city of Aydin, in Asia Minor. From 1938 to 1943 he studied theology at the School of Theology of the University of Athens. During the period 1952-53, he attended postgraduate courses on theology, pscychology, philosophy, didactics and sociology in the University of Marburg. In 1954 he received his doctoral degree from the School of Theology of the University of Athens. In 1959, he was elected senior lecturer in Practical Theology at the same School. From 1961 to 1968 he served as full professor of Homiletics and Liturgics at the School of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. From 1968 to 1988, he wroked as full professor of Practical Theology at the School of Theology of the University of Athens. He also gave lectures at the School of Deaconesses, the University Ecclesiastical Phrontistery of the Rizarios School, the Phrontistery for Prospective Catechists of the Apostoliki Diakonia of the Church of Greece, at the War College, at the Hellenic National Defense College and in the Radio University in Berlin. In 1980-81 he served as rector of the University of Athens. From 1982 to 2008 he was director of the journals Θεολογία, Ἐκκλησία, and Ἐφημέριος, published by the Church of Greece. He has represented the Church of Greece in many inter-Orthodox, inter-Christian and inter-ecclesiastical dialogue meetings, and he has published numerous theological studies in the fields of Practical Theology, Philosophy and Sociology.
