   1. During the conversation with Svet magazine prof. Tancheva, who is a specialist in neurobiology and described herself as a devoted Christian, elaborated in a number of occasions on the relations between science and faith. In her opinion science should not only serve for the good of humanity but has also the important task to affirm the greatness of God. The history has shown that science without moral and ethics cannot advance the wellbeing of society, since it can even become an evil instrument for destruction.  In support of her argument prof. Tancheva referred to Einstein’s quote “science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind” (in the text cited as: “religion without science is blind, science without religion is lame”).

      As a participant in the 2011 congress of the World Christian Doctors Network (WCDN) she argued that the contemporary medicine should turn to both physical and spiritual healing. In 2012 she was among the organizers of the first WCDN conference in Bulgaria which discussed a number of theological problems along with main challenges for the science in 21th century in fields such as genetics and the application of stem cells.
