Saint Nikolaj Velimirovic was a prominent figure in the Serbian Orthodox Church. He was an influential theological writer and a highly gifted orator, known as the New Chrysosom. He was bishop of the eparchies of Ohrid and Žiča (1920–1956). His most widely-known work is the “The Prologue from Ohrid”. In 2003 the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church unanimously decided to enter Bishop Nicholai (Velimirovic) of Ohrid and Žiča into the calendar of saints of our Holy Orthodox Church.
