   1. Stefan Tsankov was one of the main Bulgarian theologians in the 20^th century. He studied theology in Austro-Hungary and obtained a doctorate in law in Zurich, Switzerland.  Professor at the Theological Faculty of the Sofia University and later rector of the university, Tsankov was among the most prolific writers with contributions about recent Church history and others.
