    1. The article argues that the theistic evolution concept can bridge confrontation between evolutionist views and religion. The author referred to the formulation of the idea by US geneticist Francis Collins. Vatashki also argued that there are a number of Eastern Orthodox theologians who share the theistic view (like Metropolitan Kallistos Ware). Theistic evolution, however, has many opponents, including various creationists whose arguments against theistic evolution were reviewed by the author (contradiction with the Book Genesis, denies God’s almightiness and others). The theistic evolution must overcome first many prejudices that science and religion are absolutely incompatible, according to the author. Yet, theology should not try to reconcile with every new scientific discovery.
