    1. The article examines the practices of non-confessional religious education at Bulgarian universities and private religious institutes. It also provides suggestions for introduction of an improved methodology. In addition, this methodology should be interdisciplinary and tailored for the university level of education. In the analysis of the current situation the authors emphasize the dominant confessional form based on Eastern Orthodox Christianity, one which diverges from European practices for religious education. It also describes the ten-year experience of the authors in non-confessional religious education (knowledge about religion not of a particular dogma as the authors stress) in different courses they have led the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (Sofia).
