    1. The modern family in Russia is in a serious crisis situation associated with depopulation, the decline of the institution of the family, the loss of clear ideological orientations and the collapse of the customary system of values. One of the causes of the crisis in the spiritual and moral sphere of modern society is the destruction of the traditional foundations of the family. This requires new approaches to the consideration of factors affecting the characteristics of family education.

       The author overtook research and proved that one of the factors that have a positive impact on the relationship between parents and children is the spiritual and moral values of the parents and, in particular, their religiosity. Believers in comparison with non-believers (test “Spiritual and moral orientations”) have a higher level of spiritual and moral values (p <0.01) and are largely guided by them in life situations and in their behavior.
