    1. Priest and professor of theology, he released a number of pedagogical homilies, where he spoke on school and parental education. All of his four children have served to the science, and one of them, Ivan Artobolevskiy, the eminent theorist of mechanical engineering and the James Watt International Gold Medal prizewinner, became a member of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Father Ioann Artobolevskiy was arrested and killed in Butovo during Stalin's repressions. In 2000 he was canonized as a new martyr by Russian Orthodox Church.
