    1. A Christian psychoanalysis is based on observations that can detect the original form of the being, the incandescent core of the psychic magma, phenomenologically dominated by the conflict of purposes. In the icon of the saints' life we see this image restored: we see the spiritual pleasure, the spiritual power, the spiritual sense, the spiritual life in their infinite dynamism strengthened by the fellowship with the divine Archetype. The alienation of man from God stunts his spiritual growth and results in a mode or tropos shift that manifests itself by breaking the archetypes of pleasure, power, meaning and life into pairs of contradictions: pleasure ends in pain, power in weakness, sense in absurd, and life in Death etc. These contrasting pairs become complexes of the psyche that unconsciously affect man’s life, threatening his psychic balance, and exerting their pressure irrespective of our will. The conflicting mode of being can not, however, be easily uprooted. This happens precisely because the conflict of purposes goes so deeply into the biological layer and the abysses of the unconscious. A mere application of conscious censorship against pain, weakness, absurdity, and death only amplifies by rebound the destructive force of these psychological complexes. On the other hand, in pain, weakness, absurdity and death, there is hidden a mystery of divine iconomy, which limits the alienation of man's image from his Divine Prototype. They also act as signposts that pleasure, power, meaning, and human life may have missed their target, and as a sign of their need for communion with the infinite divine. Therefore, a Christian solution to the challenges  these complexes pose to us has to include a certain transformation of the conflicting constellations whereby pain, weakness, absurdity and death potentiate pleasure, power, meaning, and life, respectively, at meeting with God. In this way, pain can potentiate spiritual pleasure when it is constituted as a sacrifice or compassion, weakness can be the medium of perfection of spiritual power, when it is valued as a source of humility, the absurd can become by faith the paradox that enlarges reason and opens widely the sensitivity of human thought, protecting it from the temptation of too many reductions and rationalizations, and death can become life-giving by its constitution not as a simple annihilation of life but as a transition towards the Life which has an infinite horizon of growth and advancement.
