    1. The article looks at discussions concerning virtue ethics and interpretations of the thought of Saint Maximus the Confessor in contemporary Orthodox theologians. Nevena Dimitrova argues that the interest towards one of the most prominent Church Fathers has overcome borders between Christian confessions – Orthodox, Protestant and Catholic. Moreover, the interest in his thought has expanded to various disciplines like philosophy, psychology and even exact sciences. According to Nevena Dimitrova, St. Maximus can be thus considered as an example of the all-embracing nature of theology.
