   1. Luka Sapundziev was Bulgarian theologian and priest (archimandrite Evtimii).  He graduated from the Kiev Theological Academy in 1915 and later specialised in Germany and Switzerland where he obtained a doctorate. Sapundziev was a professor at the Sofia University teaching courses in Christian apologetics and philosophy of religion. He has a number of publications on the interplay between religion, science, philosophy and logic. In his book “Faith and Reason” Sapundziev defended the thesis for complementarity between science and religion.    He became a monk in 1904.
