    1. Djordje Djuric is an Associate Professor of Contemporary History at Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad. He is engaged in the research in the field of history of Serbian science and Serbian-Russian relations in terms of society and science in 18th and 19th century. He is one of the authors in the edition Life and Work of Serbian Scientists published by Serbian Academy of Science and Arts. He participated in the project Российско-сербские связи в области науки и образования XIX – первая половина XX века organized in the cooperation of Saint Petersburg branch of the Institute for History of Science “Vavilov” of Russian Academy of Sciences and Center SANU in Kragujevac. The results of this project were published in the scientific proceedings in English and Russian language.

      Djordje Djuric obtained a Magister Degree in 2002 on the theme of Political Biography of Jovan Zujovic, analysing the political biography of one of the most prominent Serbian scientists of the 19th century and the founder of geology in Serbia. He defended his Doctoral dissertation on European influences on modern Serbian historiography, since the mid-18th until mid-19th century at Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad. For the purpose of studying history of science and general history, more than once, he was in Germany and Russia, as a scholar of Russian Academy of Sciences, Goethe Institute and Georg Eckert Institute.

      He is an editor in chief of the scientific historical journal Memorial of the Historical Archive Srem since 2002, a member of the Editorial Board of Serbian Biographical Dictionary (the most significant biographical encyclopaedia of Serbian people) and journal The Timisoara Review. Currently, he is the Secretary General of Matica Srpska (the oldest cultural and scientific institution of Serbian people, established in 1826) and Secretary of the Serbian Society of History of Science.

      Djordje Djuric is the author of five monographs, two school textbooks, more than 30 technical papers (articles, treatises, contributions) and more than 100 entries in lexicographic editions. Until now, he has participated in more than 20 national and international scientific conferences (Conferences organised by Matica Srpska, SANU, Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute for History of Science from Saint Petersburg, Georg Eckert Institute, Department for History at University Komensky from Bratislava and the like).
