Srđan M. Jovanović is an Associate Professor at the Facutly of History, Nankai University, Tianjin, China. His current research includes social history, political science, religion, and sociolinguistics.
Jovanović is a doctor of historical sciences, master of European studies (the title of Doctor and Master obtained in Czech Republic) and a graduated philologist from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade.
He was a lecturer and researcher at at many European universities and research institutions, such as the Palacký University of Czech Republic, the University of Kosice in Slovakia, the Bologna University, the New European College in Bucharest.
During his career, he received many grants (of the Czech Ministry of Education, the grant of the Slovak Academic Information Agency, the grant of the Turkish Scientific and Technical Council and the scholarship of the Swedish Institute). In 2009, he was a researcher for religion in the frame of the in the research project Religion and Values Central and Eastern Research Network (REVACERN) funded by the European Union, coordinated by the University of Szeged, Hungary.
General areas of his research include nation, religion, language and contemporary world exegesis from a multipolar stance. He speaks fluent Serbian, English, Czech and Swedish, uses Russian and German.
He has published three books and many academic, critical and polemic articles all over the world. He founded two scientific journals (one of which, Humanicus, was designated by the National Library of the Czech Republic as a publication of relevance to the Czech culture).
