Tomislav Petković is an electronics engineer, a physicist and philosopher. He received a Diploma in Electronics from Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Zagreb in 1974 , and in philosophy and sociology at the Philosophical Faculty in Zagreb in 1976 . He was awarded his Master of Nuclear Instruments in 1977 and his PhD Experimental Nuclear Physics in 1986. He is a full professor of physics at the Department of Applied Physics of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) of the University of Zagreb, visiting physicist at the Accelerator Centers BNL and Jefferson TJNAF (USA) laboratory and an associate professor at the Department of Physics at East Carolina University in Greenville. He has written four books in the fields of classical and contemporary physics and philosophy of science and he has published over 65 scientific papers as author or co-writer, of which 50 in scientific journals (out of which 38 are in prestigious world physics journals) and 20 in scientific books.
