Davor Džalto is one of the significant Orthodox thinkers, artist, art historian, and philosopher. He obtained BA and MA from the Faculty of Philosophy and defended PhD thesis at the Albert-Ludwigs Universitaet in Freiburg, Germany in 2006, becoming the youngest doctor of philosophy in the humanities in Germany and the South-East European region.
Since 2007, he has been a university professor teaching history and theory of art, and Orthodox Christian theology and religious studies. As an honorary professor, he has taught at diverse universities across Europe and the US (University of Prague, Indiana University, Fordham University of New York, The American University of Rome...).
He is the president of The Institute for the Study of Culture and Christianity. He is a founding member and the art director of the Flexible Art Network and vice president of the Christian Cultural Center as well.
Džalto contributed to the study of the theological concepts of John Zizioulas and Nikolai Berdyaev, considering them in the contemporary historical and social context.
He also played an important role in promoting reconciliation and cooperation between religious communities and was directly involved in many initiatives in the Pax Christi office in Belgrade.
