    1. Tatjana Paunesku, PhD is a Research Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Feinberg School of Medicine, Northewestern University in Chicago.

Her research interests include radiation biology and nanotechnology and development of a new instrument for high resolution microscopy--Bionanoprobe.

Her primary focus is on mechanisms underlying development of genomic instability caused by ionizing irradiation. This investigation includes work with cells in culture and animal models as well as exploration of archival animal tissues collected from large scale animal experiments.

Her efforts in the field of biomedical nanotechnology include development and investigation of nanoconstructs suitable for biomedical imaging and cancer therapy. Different metals and metal oxides are combined to form the compact center of nanocomposites; their outer layer(s) are made by conjugation of biomolecules and small molecules which enable nanoconstruct targeting and use in vitro and in vivo.
