    1. The aim of this MA thesis is to analyze the characteristics of ecological movements and to evaluate them on the basis of the Orthodox Ethics for the environment.

The writer, Romanow Karantonis, analyzes the concept of ecology and its impacts as well as the ecological crisis which is the essential cause of ecological movement, as well as the action of ecological movement and the characteristics of environmental movements.

Among else, ecology is presented during Orthodox Christian teaching, and the ecological crisis is addressed by the Orthodox Christian perspective.

Karantonis conclusion is that the effective treatment of the ecological crisis is the Orthodox Christian view of the problem and the reconnection of fallen man with his Creator. Only that way mankind can be separated from man as well there will be the superior Theocentric power and his plan of salvation of man and the world. The union of man with God will create harmony throughout creation and direct it to the ultimate goal of its creation.
