- Solov'ev Vladimir, was a Russian Christian philosopher, thinker and literary critic. His cult of Sophia, a figure for Divine Wisdom, and his apologia for a Christianity compatible with and relevant to the modern world had influenced the religious philosophy of N. Berdyaev, of S. Bulgakov, P. Florensky. He attempted a synthesis of religious philosophy, science, and ethics in the context of a universal Christianity uniting the Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches.
