    1. Biljana Stojkovic was born in 1972 in Belgrade. She obrained BSc in Biology in 1996, MSc in Genetics and Evolution at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade in 1999, and PhD in Genetics and Evolution at the same faculty in 2007.

      Stojkovic is the associate professor at the Department for Genetics and Evolution at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. She is the author of a plethora of publications in the leading world’s scientific journals, as well as of the chapters and books in the field of evolutionary biology. Together with Professor Nikola Tucic, she wrote books Darwiniana: Guidebook through Evolutionary Biology in 2009 and From Molecules to Organisms: Molecular and Phenotype Evolution in 2012.

      She perceives religion and mysticism as the main obstacles to the development of intelligence and critiques of the authority of humane and free society, while, one the other hand regards secular humanism and popularization of science as bright future.

      She is a member of the European Society for Evolutionary Biology (ESEB).
