   1. Daniela Kalkandzhieva is a Bulgarian historian with a number of publications on the history of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in the second half of the 20th century and contemporary problems of Christianity. In the focus of her research is the situation in the Bulgarian Orthodox Church under the Communist regime and relations between Orthodoxy and national identity. She is a guest lecturer at the Sofia University.
