   1. Neofit Rilski (Neophyte of Rila) was a Bulgarian monk and a teacher who played an important role in the Bulgarian revival period. He made one of the first and best received translations of the Bible into contemporary Bulgarian language. Neofit Rilski also wrote many textbooks for the secular educational system and first created and introduced a globus in the local schools.
