The book condemned the “false teaching” of Peter Deunov which is described as an attempt for falsification of Eastern Orthodox dogmas and replacement of core spiritual concepts with occult pseudo-Christian substitutes. The author, a hieromonk at Month Athos, aimed to make an apology of true Christianity. Visarion Zografski pointed at the big popularity of the movement in Bulgaria, helped by the publications of more than 500 books with Deunov’s lectures after 1990.
Visarion Zografski examined various aspects of the problem. Separate parts of the work followed the origin of the movement, the biographical path of Deunov or specific components of the teaching like the development of the Paneurhythmy exercises.
The author also closely analysed the occult and theosophical features of the teaching, its ethics and practices. In addition, key concepts in Deunov’s works, including his Cosmogony and Christology, were analysed in parallel with Eastern Orthodox dogmas. Special attention was devoted to the dismissal of the idea for reincarnation.
