Leonidas K. Stylianopoulos, in this article, has the aim to complete the list of the most important Greek ancient scientists by Dr William S. Howland, from Purdue University of Indiana. William S. Howlland published this list 60 years ago. After adding the new names, L.K. Stylianopoulos has the opinion, which is based on this new list, that in no other area or historical period there were so much scientists as in Greek speaking area or in Greek and Hellenistic Antiquity. According to the writer, this tradition offered the Byzantium and the important Byzantine scholars, as Fathers of the Church, Patriarch Photius, Gregory Palamas etc.
L.K. Stylianopoulos’ conclusion is that this scientific production demonstrates the importance of the Greek and Christian identity.
