Jean Kovalevsky (born 1929) is the astronomer emeritus at the Côte d'Azur Observatory and a founding member of the French Academy of Technology. He studied in Ecole Normale Supérieure and later in Yale University. He was the president of the Société astronomique de France (SAF) from 1970 to 1973 and the first director of CERGA. Prof. Kovalesky is an expert in astrometry and celestial mechanics and has written numerous articles and papers on the subject
