   1. Euthymios K. Stylios was born in 1929 in the city of Agrinio. In 1952 he graduated from the School of Theology of the University of Athens. In 1980 he received his doctoral degree from the same School, submitting a dissertation under the title Τὸ σύγχρονον ἀστικὸν περιβάλλον ὡς ποιμαντικὸν πρόβλημα (The modern urban environment as a problem of pastoral care). In 1968 he was ordained titular bishop of Acheloos, and in 2000 he was promoted to the position of the titular metropolitan. He has rich pastoral work and he has published numerous books and articles on theological issues. From 2000 to 2008 he presided over the special Synodal Committee for Divine and Political Providence and Ecology of the Church of Greece.
