   1. Christophoros Arvanites is Assistant Professor of the Sociology of Christianism and Religion in the Patriarchal University Ecclesiastical Academy of Crete. He studied theology at the School of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, during the years 1983-87, and he continued his theological studies at the Centre International de Formation Chrétienne in Geneva and at the University of Fribourg, where he presented postgraduate research theses. He also attended lectures on Sociology, Ethics, Psychology of Religion, and Social Psychology at the University of Lausanne. he is a member of the Société Internationale de Sociologie des Religions, of the Amnesty International, and of the Hellenic League for Human Rights.
