The monograph author aims to prove that the evolution theory contradicts the Orthodox doctrine of the world origin and is a heresy.
The author interprets "evolutionism" as a system of views considering the whole variety of the living and the inanimate nature forms to appear as a result of successive transformations of some (more simple) species into others (more complex ones). "Orthodox" for the author is a doctrine based on the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, expressed in the Holy Fathers’ works and sanctified by the Church liturgical tradition. The author cites statements of a significant number of the Holy Fathers, martyrs, saints, "whose opinion condemns evolutionists’ teachings."
The evolutionary process, the author asserts, whatever mechanism it could be explained by, represents (at the best) a logical and "objective" change in the world - that is, it certainly can not describe the intent and actions of the Legislator. The author sets the world creation ex nihil by God against the natural development of matter from pre-existing forms in evolutionary theory where "God is not the creator of any particular creature", which contradicts the Creed.
"God, who is outside of time, creates not in terms of time, but instantly. Therefore, all His actions are perceived not as natural, but as miraculous. If God was a part of this world and acted in accordance with its laws, neither heaven, nor earth, nor water could execute a single command instantly - restrictions on speeding, density, temperature and other physical factors would interrupt it. Then it would make sense to talk about time extension," - the author believes.
The evolutionism doctrine is usually presented as a strict scientific concept, the author notes, however, the belief in evolution is no more scientific and justified than the belief in the biblical narrative of the six days of creation.
"Orthodox evolutionists", from the author’s point of view, "deny the Sacred Tradition, substituting it with their own science-like sophistication."
