The article looked at the implementation of Darwinist ideas in the propaganda and practice of Adolf Hitler’s National Socialism regime. The author referred to the works of several creationist authors where were explored links between Darwinism and Nazism (including Richard Weikart’s book From Darwin to Hitler), and noted the heated debates between creationists and evolutionists that were triggered by some of the works.
In Germany a version of the Darwinism was popularized by the atheist Ernst Haeckel and his followers. This movement played a significant role for the erosion of traditional values which were replaced by materialistic and racist positions. Archimandrite Pavel further analyzed the biological interpretation of history and society in Hitler’s "Mein Kampf".
