    1. Momchil Metodiev (PhD) is a historian, editor-in-chief of journal Christianity and culture, member of the academic council of the Institute for Studies of the Recent Past. He has specialized in the history of the Bulgarian Orthodox church after 1945 (with the focus on the relations with the Communist regime) and has published a number of monographs on the subject. His latest books include: Between Faith and Compromise. The Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the Communist State, 1944-1989 (issued 2010), and Legitimacy Machine: The Role of State Security in the Communistic State (2008).
