Alexander Delmouzos was one of the most famous modern Greek educator. He studied pedagogy at Jena and then he was director of the Girls' School of Volos. Here the conservatists, notably the metropolitan Germanos Mavromatis, prosecuted Delmouzos and his collaborators as "Atheists" and the Municipal Counsil closed the school. The next years Delmouzos was director of Marasleios Academy and professor at University of Thessaloniki. His work on education and pedagogy is very important and extensive
