   1. Borm in Piraeus in 1957, Fr Adamantios Avgoustides studied Medicine and Theology at the University of Athens. He is psychiatrist, psychotherapist and Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology and Psychology in the Theological Faculty of Athens University. He represents the Greek Church from 1997 to the European Council for Pastoral Care and Counseling (ECPCC) and he is member since 2002 of the European Network of Healthcare Chaplaincy (ENHCC), of the World Psychiatric Association (W. P. A.) and of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH). Since 2000 he is member of the Synodal Committee for Special Affairs and pastoral statements of the Church of Greece. He wrote many articles, papers and books focusing mainly on the encounter of Psychology and Pastoral care.
