Marios Begzos was born in 1951 in Athens. He studied theology and philosophy in the universities of Athens, Geneva and Tübingen. From 1975 onwards, he had been working together with professor Nikos Νissiotis, as a scientific associate. In 1981, he was awarded the degree of the doctor of theology.He has been teaching comparative philosophy of religion at the Department of Theology, University of Athens, since 1986. In 1993 he was elected professor.
