Manuel García Doncel is a theoretical physicist and a historian of science, currently an emeritus professor of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He received his degree in Philosophy from the Facultat Sant Francesc de Borja in 1956 and in Theology from the University of Innsbruck in 1962. He then pursued studies in Physics in the University of Barcelona, from which he was warded a PhD in Theoretical Physics in 1967. Since then, he was worked in IHES in Paris and in CERN . He was elected a Professor of Physics in the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1975, where he was instrumental in founding the Centre d’Estudis d’Història de les Ciències. He has written extensively in history of physics, theoretical physics and on the science and religion dialogue.
