Professor and Researcher at the Catholic University of Pernambuco, where he works in the field of religious studies. Member of the Brazilian Society of Theology and Sciences of Religion and vice-president (2010-16) of the Association for Post-Graduate Programmes in Theology and Religious Studies (ANPTECRE). Coordinator of the Transdisciplinary Observatory of Religions in Recife, he carries out research on Christian theology and interreligious dialogue, theological methodology and transdisciplinarity. Full member (2014-15) of the National Committee for Respect and Religious Diversity of the Secretariat for Human Rights of the Brazilian government.
