Reverend Oleg A. Mumrikov was born in 1976 in the Moscow Oblast. In 1998, he graduated from the biological-chemical faculty of the Moscow Pedagogical Institute, specializing as a biology and chemistry teacher. He taught biology, chemistry, geography, and the fundamentals of Orthodox culture in various schools: in the rural boarding school "Light of Russia", in the boarding school of St. Sergius of Radonezh, and in the gymnasium at the Temple of the Holy Apostles of Peter and Paul.
In June 2004, he graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary, where he defended his thesis entitled: "Ideological and Ethical Aspects in the Methodology of Teaching Biological Disciplines in High School" on the subject of moral theology. In 2007, he graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy (MDA), having defended his PhD work on "The Descent of Man: Biblical-Patristic Teaching and Modern Anthropological Studies." Since 2007, he has been working as a professor of theology and biblical studies at MDA.
In January 2011 he was elected as an assistant professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education at the Saint Tikhon's Orthodox University of Humanities in Moscow (PSTGU) until 2016. Mumrikov is a regular participant in the “Science within the world of the Orthodox worldview” International Christmas readings, and he is an active participant in PSTGU’s seminar “Science and Faith” and at the annual conference “Science, Philosophy, Religion” in the city of Dubna. As well, he is a regular contributor to the “PSTGU Bulletin” and on the scientific and theological portal Bogoslov.ru.
